By using simple materials, children can create a vibrant bouquet of flowers that will last forever. Follow the steps below to make your own handprint flowers, perfect for decorating, gifting, or as a festive Mother's Day craft.

Materials Needed:

  • Construction paper in various colors

  • Non-toxic paint (washable)

  • Glue or glue stick

  • Scissors (child-safe if necessary)

  • Green pipe cleaners

  • Paintbrushes (optional, for more controlled painting)

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Paint: Choose a variety of paint colors and pour them into shallow dishes or on a palette. If you prefer less mess, you can use a paintbrush to apply paint to the kids’ hands.

  2. Make the Handprints: Have the kids coat their hands in paint and firmly press them onto the construction paper, leaving a clear handprint. Allow the paint to dry completely.

  3. Cut Out the Handprints: Once the paint has dried, use scissors to carefully cut around each handprint. These will form the petals of your flowers.

  4. Assemble the Flowers: Take a green pipe cleaner and glue the base of the cutout handprint to one end. This will be the stem and the handprint will represent the flower's petals.

  5. Create a Bouquet: Repeat the process to create multiple flowers. You can twist the stems together to make a bouquet or arrange them in a vase.
