Get your kids into the festive spirit with these adorable and easy-to-make Paper Plate Christmas Trees! This simple craft is perfect for young children and provides a fun way to develop their creativity and fine motor skills.

With just a few materials and steps, your little ones will create charming Christmas decorations that you’ll cherish for years to come.

Skill Level: Easy

Materials Needed:

  • Paper plates

  • Green paint

  • Glitter

  • Stickers

  • Colored pom-poms

  • Craft glue

  • Scissors

Instructions:

  1. Prepare Your Materials: Gather all your materials on a clean workspace. Lay down some newspaper or a disposable tablecloth to protect your surface from paint and glue.

  2. Create the Spiral Tree:

  • Take a paper plate and cut it into a spiral. Start cutting from the edge of the plate, moving inwards toward the center. The width of the spiral can vary but aim for about 1 inch wide.

  • Once cut, gently stretch out the spiral to give it a tree-like shape.

  1. Paint the Tree:

  • Using green paint, cover both sides of the spiral completely. This will form the body of your Christmas tree.

  • Allow the paint to dry completely before moving to the next step. This might take about 15-20 minutes, depending on the type of paint and how thickly it was applied.

  1. Decorate Your Tree:

  • Once the paint is dry, it’s time to decorate! Use craft glue to attach glitter, stickers, and colored pom-poms all over the tree. Get creative with the placement and colors to make your tree unique and festive.

  • Let the glue dry for about 10 minutes.

  1. Display Your Creation:

  • Your paper plate Christmas tree is now ready to display. You can hang it up by threading a piece of string through the top or simply place it on a flat surface as a delightful decoration.
