These vibrant chains can be used as decorations for a party or as a cheerful addition to your child’s bedroom. Follow these straightforward steps to create your own rainbow paper chains.

Materials Needed:

  • Colored Construction Paper: In rainbow colors (red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, violet).

  • Scissors: For cutting the paper into strips.

  • Stapler or Tape: To secure the ends of the paper strips together.

Step-by-Step Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Paper: Select sheets of construction paper in rainbow colors. Using scissors, cut each sheet into strips approximately one inch wide.

  2. Start the Chain: Take one strip of paper and curl it around to meet the ends, forming a circle. Secure the ends with a stapler or tape.

  3. Add More Links: Slide the next strip of paper through the first circle. Form it into a circle and secure the ends. Make sure to alternate the colors of the paper in the order of the rainbow to create a visually pleasing pattern.

  4. Continue Adding: Repeat the process, continuing to add more paper strips and alternating colors. You can make the chain as long as you like by adding more links.

  5. Display Your Chain: Once your rainbow paper chain is complete, find the perfect spot to hang and display the colorful creation.
