Growing Garden

About

ABOUT THE LESSON: Gardening is a great way to engage the senses: Smell the fresh grass, earthy soil, and sweet flowers. Feel the hard texture of seeds, the soft texture of petals, let sand run through your fingers, then splash your hands in water. Today, we're going to plant our own gardens and get ready to watch them grow! SUPERSKILLS: Sensory Stimulation: In this lesson, the kids will experience sensory stimuli when they work with soil, water, and seeds. They'll stick their fingers in the sand, feel the soil, water the plants, and play with it all. Learning: This lesson is great for learning about nature and art. Today, we'll learn what plants need to grow, how they grow, and the responsibility of looking after our gardens and keeping our plants alive. Once the flowers bloom, we'll also learn about colors and shapes.
