ABOUT THE LESSON: What is the fascination with MONSTERS? Shrek, Monsters Inc., and Sesame Street—we all like these monsters, but why? It's because of the stories that go along with them and their adorable, quirky personalities. Monsters don't have to always be scary; they can be friendly and cuddly, too. In this lesson we are making monsters, discussing what we think of them, and giving them their own personalities and stories. We're also learning a super fun painting technique that creates texture. SUPERSKILLS: Imagination: This is the ability to create visual images in our brains. It allows the exploration of all kinds of images and ideas without any limitations. This skill is vital to a child's development as it encourages problem-solving, innovation, new ways of seeing things, and critical thinking.
