Enchanted Dream Catcher

About

ABOUT THE LESSON: A dream catcher is a spider web or net-like ornament originating from Native American cultures. The dream catcher catches any harm that might be in the air, just like a spider web traps anything that comes near it. In this lesson we are going to make colourful dream catchers which will give us the opportunity to talk about dreams: good dreams, nightmares, and examples of dreams we'd like to get caught in the net before they make it into our heads. SUPERSKILLS: Fine-motor coordination: when one uses smaller intrinsic muscle groups of the hands to perform or engage in an activity with controlled movements. The children will work on their fine motor skills while they are threading, punching, and decorating their dreamcatchers. They will be having fun whilst strengthening the tiny muscles in their hands. Focus: This craft requires a lot of focus. Zoning in and focusing on a task helps to engage the children and improve their attention spans.
