Clay Hearts

About

ABOUT THE LESSON: This lesson is so much fun because it's all about sensory stimulation. This craft would make a perfect gift for Valentine's Day—something special to hang up at home as a reminder of the love we have for each other. SUPERSKILLS: Tactile Sensory: This involves experiencing sensory stimuli through touch, using our hands and skin. In this craft, the children are invited to experience the feelings of softness, squishiness, and temperature by playing with and manipulating clay. They will engage in sticking their fingers in, squeezing, pounding, and shaping the clay. Fine-Motor Coordination: This is the ability to perform smaller, intricate movements with our hands and fingers using various grips. In this class, the children will use their fine-motor skills to thread their hearts onto a string.
