ABOUT THE LESSON: Lessons about flowers are great way to teach children to appreciate the beauty of nature. With their pretty colours, interesting shapes and lovely fragrances, there is so much to explore! In this lesson we'll learn how to use recycled items to create something beautiful to keep or give to someone special. SUPERSKILLS: innovation & creativity: This craft offers the opportunity to innovate and be creative. During this lesson the kids will create flowers in a variety of shapes and colours using the teacher's examples as inspiration. They will develop skills like being observant, problem solving, and thinking critically and creatively. They will also expand their vocabulary as they use language to describe what they're seeing and thinking as they replicate and customise their teacher's designs. Fine-motor coordination: when one uses smaller intrinsic muscle groups of the hands to perform or engage in an activity with controlled movements. This will be developed when the children draw and cut out various flower shapes and other decorative elements to add to their crowns.
