The ability to start identifying colors usually develops around the age of 2. This skill is an important part of development as it creates links between visual cues and words. It is also considered a milestone in a child’s cognitive process. Kids are naturally attracted to bright colors—colorful toys, crayons, books, and games. Since color is a part of everyday life and a key component in crafting classes (paint, crayons, etc.), there are many opportunities to teach kids about color in every class. In this lesson, we are going to create a color memory game using recycled materials to show how easy and fun it can be to play and learn about colors.
