About
ABOUT THE LESSON: A guitar is one of the most popular instruments in the world. There are 3 main types of guitar: acoustic, electric and bass, and they are used in all sorts of different genres of music: pop, rock, jazz, blues, country, folk music and many more. In this lesson we are creating our very own guitars. Using a recycled box and elastic bands to create sounds vibrations. So 1,2,3,4! Let's get the music playing! SUPERSKILLS: Fine motor coordination: Is when you use your smaller intrinsic muscle groups of your hands to perform or engage in an activity with controlled movements. You can never be too old to practice fine motor coordination. This project is loaded with detailed work from cutting and building to attaching and strumming. Auditory: This skill will be brought through when the children are able to enjoy their end product of a guitar and play music with their class. This allows a child to develop their ability to interpret various sounds and understand that sounds can be developed into music. Auditory development develops a child’s ability to listen which will assist them in many areas in life.
