ABOUT THE LESSON: This lesson is a very unique and fun craft to make as a gift for a friend or family member. This craft focuses on three elements. 1. Emojis: Most people use emojis as a way of communication these days and kids in this age group love drawing them. 2. Puzzles: Puzzles are fun as it's a game everyone is familiar with and the level of difficulty can be chosen. Building a puzzle can also be a group activity so this craft is great for friends and family engagement after class. 3. Abstract Art: And the third part is learning about Abstract Art and creating something beautiful. SUPERSKILLS: Fine motor coordination: Is when you use your smaller intrinsic muscle groups of your hands to perform or engage in an activity with controlled movements. You can never be too old to practice fine motor coordination. This project is loaded with detailed work from cutting, to drawing to building the puzzle. WHAT YOU'LL NEED Use what you have and be creative: • A3 size carboard sheet/thick paper for game e.g cereal box • Paper (white or color) • Scissors • Glue stick • Pencil/ pen and ruler • Black marker or black crayon • Coloring supplies: sharpies, color pencils, pastel crayons or permanent markers • Paint supplies: Watercolor paint/ Tempera watercolor cakes, water in a bowl, paint brush • Plastic Ziplock bag and sticker to put your puzzle in once finished. • A circle sized object to trace for the Emoji's (Paper cup, lid of small jar).
